Without Sunlight Growing Plants
Often, when we imagine plants being drenched in the light of windowpane, we don’t think about the fact that numerous plants can live and even blossom in dark places. Landscapers have put up this list of some plants that would survive well without the need for sunshine for people who want to have plants and live in places with low lighting.
Wax Begonia
Wax begonias are exquisite decorative plants that can bloom almost throughout the entire year, provided they are kept under proper conditions. They are petite, they have small, pink flowers; they will brighten up your living environment. Wax begonias will grow in their best when placed in a bright indirect light spot, but are generally happy to be in low.
Nerve Plant
For something delicate and low maintenance, go for a nerve plant. They have beautiful veined patterns of different colors on green leaves that seem to have been sketched. If your nerve plant, for instance, had moist soil, some falling leaves might lead to irreversible damage.
Peperomia
There are many popular houseplants under a big family of plants known as peperomia. Peperomia, with its ideal growing conditions involving medium or bright indirect light to sustain its health and vibrant foliage, is rather tolerant of low-light conditions but can be damaged when exposed to direct sunlight.
Maidenhair Fern
Maidenhair ferns are exquisite when grown either indoors or outdoors; they are fragile, beautiful, and worth it to grow. Similarly, like many ferns, the maidenhair fern grows on the floor of the forest, underneath trees, thus being able to withstand the low light environment. Maidenhair fern is an excellent option for landscaping dark corners of your yard, as it requires no direct sunlight and easily grows in the crevices of rocks, etc.
Bromeliad
Those privileged enough to have observed bromeliad flowers can fully grasp their beauty and hence the reason they are highly sought after. Bromeliads are available in many varieties that require different care. Yet, some varieties can well survive in low light conditions. Your bromeliad may be happy and healthy without ever blooming – most bromeliads require at least partial indirect light to flower!
